Considering the growing concern
towards the potential international illicit acts, like terrorism,
sabotage and other violent acts, the IMO (International Maritime
Organization) Security Committee proposed and the Diplomatic Conference
of December 2002 adopted the ISPS Code (International Ship and Port
Facility Security Code) and also the consequent changes of SOLAS
Convention according to the European Union regulation CE725/2004
regarding the imperative reinforcement of Ship and Port Facilities
Protection.
LISNAVE, by applying the legislation, established a
security policy for the shipyard, regarding the implementation of
measures in order to reinforce the security of people and materials of
its clients and its own shipyard.
The main measures are:
• Designation of the Port Facility Security Officer -
PFSO - with global responsibility in matter of shipyard security.
• Definition of a Security Plan approved by the
competent authority, allowing the establishment of operational and
physical security measures for normal security level and additional
measures that the shipyard must take in order to start working at a
higher security level, in consequence of a Port Authority decision.
• Definition of Security Plan maintenance by proper
internal audits.
• Definition of co-operation and communication channels
with the authorities.
This policy also promotes the personal training and
perception for the security questions regarding surveillance and
protection. |
